After mid-year price increases, 2024 Chevy Corvettes are thousands more expensive.

UPDATE 10/15/23: A Chevrolet representative told Car and Driver that the pricing increases for the 2024 Corvette took effect earlier this month. The company provided the following explanation for the price increase: “Chevrolet monitors and adjusts pricing on all our products regularly, and we’re confident the Corvette remains a winning formula of performance and attainability.” Orders placed by customers and accepted prior to the rise were protected at those pricing.

Thanks to inflation, the cost of things is rising. As a result, the cost of (truly) good sports vehicles is also increasing. For example, the 2024 Chevy Corvette had a mid-year price increase that increased the cost of each new model by $2100.

expensive Corvettes

Chevy has increased the destination fee by $100, from $1595 to $1695, in addition to raising the MSRP of the vehicles by $2,000. This news was first reported by GM Authority. Car and Driver contacted the firm today to inquire about the cause of the mid-year price increase, but we haven’t heard back.

The 2024 Corvette range cost more than the previous year when it debuted on sale, as is customary for automakers to increase their suggested asking prices at the beginning of new model years. But after the most recent price hike, ’24 models are thousands more expensive. The Z06, for instance, currently has a starting price of $114,395 – $5100 more than it did in 2023. Earlier this year, the new hybrid all-wheel-drive E-Ray had a starting price of $104,495; currently, it starts at $106,595.

Adding an extra $10,000

The base Stingray model’s pricing was $59,995 when the 2020 C8 Corvette first arrived in Chevrolet stores. The initial price increased by $1,000, $2300, and $5900 annually after that. Four model years later, the least priced Vette’s base price has increased by $10,000.

The C8’s remarkable value when compared to the competition is one of its best qualities. For those who are always comparing prices, the outstanding Porsche 718 Cayman (now $69,950) has always had a lower beginning price than America’s sports car. Of course, displacement cannot be replaced, and the four-cylinder Cayman has significantly fewer horsepower.
