2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV AWD models without the SS will have 288 horsepower.

NEWS 10/19/23: A spokesperson for Chevrolet has confirmed to Car and Driver that all-wheel-drive 2024 Blazer EV 2LT and RS models will have 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque. This is the first time the automaker has confirmed the power outputs of these impending electric SUV variants. Previously, it was disclosed that the performance-oriented Blazer EV SS will feature an all-wheel-drive powertrain with 557 horsepower. The power ratings for the front-wheel-drive 2LT and the rear-wheel-drive RS are still pending. If the Chevrolet Equinox EV is any indication, the FWD Blazer EV will produce approximately 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque.

The primary option for the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV has vanished into thin air, as if a Titan-born Marvel villain with infinity stones snapped his fingers. The previously announced 1LT trim level, which was to begin at $44,995, has been discontinued, replaced by the front-wheel-drive 2LT specification (pictured above) with an unspecified price.

Chevrolet has verified to Car and Driver that the all-wheel-drive version of the 2LT now carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $56,715. Chevy also confirmed that the production schedule for the all-wheel-drive RS, which will be the first Blazer EV to reach the streets when it debuts this summer, has not changed. This vehicle will begin at $60,215 and will include ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a unique grille in comparison to the 2LT.

The manufacturer intends to begin manufacturing the RS RWD and 2LT AWD in the fall, following the initial launch this summer. The SS specification level is now scheduled to go into production in the spring. Given that the RWD RS is now encroaching on the top-model’s pricing territory, our hunches indicate that the SS will also experience similar price increases. Information on the front-drive RS and LT models will become available closer to their 2024 release date.

Oddly, the RWD variant of the RS is priced higher than the AWD model at $61,790. We double-checked to ensure that we had read that correctly, and Chevy confirmed it. The rear-drive automobile features a Bose sound system, but we’re still baffled.

A Chevrolet spokesperson told Automotive News that the brand anticipates the upcoming Equinox EV’s higher trim levels will meet the requirements of prospective Blazer EV 1LT buyers, but with the Bolt twins on hiatus, we lament the removal of yet another budget-friendly option.
