Late in 2024, Lucid Gravity will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

UPDATE 10/20/23: Lucid has announced that the Gravity will be unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show on November 16. Additionally, the company stated that production will begin “late” in 2024.

NEW AS OF 8/10/23: In a statement released Monday regarding its second-quarter financial report, Lucid affirmed it will unveil the Gravity SUV in November of this year, with production scheduled to begin in 2024.

Since teasing the upcoming Gravity SUV in November, Lucid Motors has kept relatively silent about it. Now that testing has begun on public roadways in the United States, the Gravity is making progress towards production.

Despite Lucid displaying the car unmasked at the end of last year, the most recent images of Gravity’s testing show it covered in camouflage with a space theme. The fledgling company’s upcoming SUV remains shrouded in mystery.

We are aware that the Gravity will have up to seven seats and a newer version of the Glass Cockpit, which will include an updated version of the Lucid UX operating system. The company claims the luxury SUV will have comparable driving dynamics to sports cars and a longer electric driving range than any other EV SUV presently on the market.

Unfortunately, Lucid’s word is all we have to go on at the present, as we lack actual performance statistics. We anticipate that the Gravity will offer the same powertrain options as the Air, which range from 480 horsepower to 1050 horsepower on the Grand Touring Performance.

In fact, we anticipate that the Gravity will share a number of specifications with the Air sedan when it goes into production. Currently, according to EPA estimates, the Air has the greatest range of any electric vehicle on the market. The Air Grand Touring has the greatest range of any EV we’ve tested at 75 miles per hour. When connected into a fast-charger, it is also capable of adding up to 300 miles of range in just over 20 minutes.

The added size and weight of an SUV will undoubtedly reduce the range of the Air, but if Lucid’s first endeavor is any indication, the Gravity will have a great deal to offer.

According to a timeline provided by Lucid in November of last year, the configurator and order books for the Gravity should open in 2023, with production commencing in 2024. We have reached out to Lucid to corroborate this timeline and will update this article if we receive a response.
