The shrouded grille of the upcoming Ford Mustang GT California Special is teased.

There will soon be another horse added to Ford’s lineup of new Mustangs. That is predicated on a picture that the business shared on social media today featuring a seventh-generation Mustang’s covered grille. A “GT/CS” badge, which makes tribute to the earlier GT California Special limited versions of the nameplate, is hardly noticeable.

Today, California Love Ford CEO Jim Farley shared a single photo of the new Mustang GT grille—which can be recognized by the headlamp design and the big air intake on the pony car’s snout—on his X account, which was formerly known as Twitter. “Can’t wait to show you what’s next for Mustang,” writes Farley.

Although there’s no additional information available, we can anticipate that the upcoming GT California Special will resemble earlier models. The GT/CS was revived by the departing generation for the 2019 model year. California-themed Stangs, like their predecessors, were distinguished by their body stripes, special wheel designs, and other exterior trim elements, in addition to their interior luxuries that were distinctive to the GT/CS models.

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT California Special may come in coupe or convertible body styles, although it is unclear what features will be added. It’s also unclear whether the 2025 cars will get the look change, or if it will only be available for the current 2024 model year.
